- I used these as decorative items. They have never been opened. The red peppers are stored in oil and the other is a spiced oil. I don't know how long these are good for since they are preserves. The jars could also be used for pickled eggs and/or homemade vinaigrette or spiced oil. I prefer to keep them as decorative items. They bring color and warmth to the kitchen. Pick up only. Gatineau. - The window is from cottage and would work well in a 3 season dwelling or shed or playhouse or greenhouse. 47 inches wide and 30 inches high framed in cedar. The window is not exactly as shown but the pictures show the style. The window is one fixed pane and one casement that opens (not the third pane shown in picture) there is a screen and extra panes that work as storm windows. It was in a washroom so the glass is frosted. If interested I will get picture of actual window and can transport it into Ottawa.
