working color laserjet printer. Amherst
We retired this color laserjet printer in April, 2017, because it often misfeeds the first sheet of paper. But then it reprints the first page and prints remaining pages and other jobs without fuss until it is idle and cools down. Also, sometimes it complains that a toner cartridge is missing but cleaning the contacts on the cartridge makes it happy again. It is a Konica-Minolta Magicolor 2450 purchased in 2005. Its had light use printing 5,709 pages in its 12 years of service for us (average: 40 pages/month). It has 16% of the color toners left, 70% of a (newer) black toner cartridge, and 28% of the drum unit life remaining. If you’re willing to baby it a little, it will probably print a thousand or so color pages and thousands of black and white pages before it runs out of toner or croaks. It is large and heavy (16.9" (W) x 15.6" (D) x 13.4" (H)), 44 lbs and noisy when operating (the toner cartridges clunk as they cycle around inside). It looks similar to this photo http://www.elperfecto.com/images/media-jam/Konica_Minolta_magicolor_2430DL_.... It will print from a USB cable (included). For printing from a network, it requires an ethernet cable connection. It will not print from wi-fi.
