Baby Dolls for Therapy. (Bournemouth Castlepoint)
Hi, We are looking for hard bodied realistic baby dolls or cuddly teddies and animals approximately 30cm-50cm for Therapy for our patients living with Dementia. From experience they are better if they do not make a noise and ideally their eyes should stay open but any babies or cuddlies considered! We had such success with the last dolls donated they took them home so if anyone has any to replenish our nursery that would be great. Having a baby to look after or a soft cuddly animal (which for infection control reasons must be single patient use) has proved to be great at soothing patients living with Dementia who are often distressed in a strange environment. Please drop off any donations to the reception desk (9am-4.30pm) at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. There is free 20 minute car parking between the main entrance and Emergency Department. Label -for Annie Dementia and Delirium Support, OPM Office, bleep 2681. Thanks in advance for any donations.
