I have a power planer (Craftsman CM600, 500w) which I have never used. It is maybe 20 years old. Due to age, the rubber drive band needs replacing. A child (not literally) could replace it. That part is currently available for you to get on the internet for $24 including postage. I removed the cover plate to take a photo to show the two drums over which you would slip the new rubber belt. Planers haven’t changed over time so you’d be saving about $100 on a new one.
Free to you and you’d be obtaining the part.
I have plugged it in and it operates fine; just needs the drive belt.
