Made of particle board but much more sturdy than what IKEA makes.
There are some darker areas on the surface but no scratches.

The side board is attached to the drawer unit with two screws. They might need to be repositioned as the screws don’t stay in place (see pictures). Even if nothing is done the desk is stable and sturdy.
