Kenwood Chef repair project (Broom Plantation G84)

This Chef is about 40 years old (model number A901E). I have replaced the planetary gear mechanism recently, but now the motor or associated electronics are faulty. The motor runs slow and power is reduced. EBay has suppliers of spare parts and there are plenty of online posts offering advice on doing repairs. My expertise might be stretched attempting this!
