**There are at least two problems with this receiver. First, the display doesn't work properly. Perhaps someone who knows what they are doing could fix it. It might just be an internal bulb, though replacing it could be tricky. Second, it looks like there was a cable plugged into the CD input connection, and the connectors were snapped off, so you can't plug in to the CD input anymore. However, you can use one of the other inputs (phono or tape) to connect a CD player.
This unit does actually pick up FM signals and play just fine, but of course you can't see what station you are tuned to unless you shine a flashlight into the display, and even then, you can just barely see it, so it's rather inconvenient, to say the least.
