We turned this futon into a platform bed because we didn’t need it to fold up into a couch anymore, and preferred to get rid of the chunky arms due to the size and shape of our room. We are now choosing to upgrade to a “real” platform bed. This is sturdy but does wiggle. While all of the original pieces of the futon do still exist, turning it back into a foldable futon would require some work and ingenuity, and possibly some replacement parts, because some wood pieces were sawed through to make new legs so that it would be supportive enough to be slept on. It is solid wood.
