Do you get knocking in your pipes? These are fitted in the cold water piping in the area where the noise comes from. (I understand it works because the small amount of trapped air is easily compressible, so absorbs quick changes in water pressure). Easiest place to fit is usually onto the end of the washing machine feed tap.
