Baby monitor – needs attention (Eardisley, HR3)

Pre-used (obviously), in original box, probably all the components are there, along with several pages of instructions I downloaded from the internet.
We were given this when our first grandchild was born in 2010 – and it was not new then.
Because it was only used on the – well-spaced-out – occasions when that baby and his cousin grandchildren visited, we never really got properly expert in using the equipment. My guess is that either works fine already or could be made to without a lot of effort.
I was prompted to post this by seeing an urgent request for a baby monitor. I have not responded to that person because I doubt that they will have the leisure to investigate the situation with ours and, if necessary, get it repaired. But I hope someone out there will have the skill, patience and motivation to get this one going.
(But if the person who requested one does read this, they are of course welcome to it if they have not been offered something more instantly usable.)
