Stair gate (brandhall /quinton B68)

Hi my grand daughters stair gate has broken making it unsafe for her little girl who is a climber. It's especially dangerous as the 70s style slats on the stairs are wide enough for he to get through to fall . It's been reported but the council don't understand building regulations .
If anyone has a stair gate they no longer need I can collect it for her.
