Lane Hope Chest (Walker's Choice)

My husband has asked me for ten years if my seven year old niece won't need a Lane hope chest someday. It's a family heirloom from the 1980s, you see, and was a gift from his grandmother to his mother and was in his playroom growing up. Won't some woman in my extended family need an enormous, all wood trunk with a padded hinged seat? As a toychest in a playroom, maybe? Seating under a window in a kid's bedroom? Linen storage for a newlywed? Extra seating for people who have a full sized house? Surely someone wants to put their winter clothes in this cedar lined box I have moved for a decade?

I presume that person is you, and you think that a padded toy box/hope chest sounds sweet. It is slightly shorter than the length of a queen bed and has mostly been used to store blankets and pile laundry baskets. The padded top has a fair bit of pulling from the thread being snagged, but that means you don't need to feel bad if your cats or your kids destroy it. It’s also pretty easy to reupholster, since the fabric is badly worn.. Made by Lane in the late 80s/early 90s (child safe lock). I'm desperate to stop tripping over it. Bring a minivan or a truck. Not heavy, but safer on a dolly or with two people. Clutter not included.

Please. Please come take this off my hands.
