Chip board with ash style plastic veneer. Rear is ash style plastic veneer hardboard. The hardboard is screwed on to the unit but the screws have pulled through the hardboard in some places. Has minor imperfections that can be tweeked. The shelves are not adjustable. They divide the unit symmetrically. It is fairly heavy. It can be disassembled for easier transportation.
