Camera and flash unit (needing repair) (Whitehill EH22)

The camera (Minolta X-300 SLR using 35mm film) and flash unit (Minolta Auto 118X) date from pre-digital times and, more importantly, will need to be repaired (if possible). The main fault is that the film advance lever doesn't work. It was successfully repaired but then failed again. The flash unit contact with the hot shoe has also failed and may be a lost cause. Why am I offering them? Basically, I can't bear to throw them away. In working order the camera at least might have some life in it.
