light hearted novels (Cambridge-Valente Library)

My elderly mom isn't up for the heavy reading she used to do and would love some light-hearted, upbeat novels to read. I am thinking along the lines of Alexander McCall Smith's "The No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency" series, and am open to other suggestions. If you have some lying around that you are willing to part with, I will happily take them off your hands. I can pick up in the Somerville/Cambridge area. With gratitude.
