This will charge standard sizes of Ni-Cd rechargeable batteries, up to four at a time except for 9V which are limited to two at a time. The 5 hours is for 600 mAh batteries, other sizes are in proportion.
It will not tell you when the batteries are fully charged.
I have used it for many years without problems and only giving it away now because I have been given a more compact charger. It has been well cared for.
