metal detector (Glen Ellyn)

i would like to know if anyone has a metal detector in their garage or basement that they never use. I think that my sister who is schizophrenia, took my mother's wedding ring and buried it somewhere on our property. Before I go and buy a metal detector I'd like to know if anyone has one that they don't want or need. Thank you.
