Chicken for eggs, Axminster (Axminster EX13)

I need to try and save money and the amount of food that goes in my compost bin really is horrific, I have plenty of room for half a dozen chicken, anything apart from bantams although I would consider anything, ex batteries would be good if anyone knows of any, many thanks
