Beige, 5.5" across, about 2" deep. I'm sure it works fine. I haven't used it for over 5 years, and it worked fine before I replaced it. I kept it all this time because I wasn't sure if I'd like the new "smart" thermostat. This Honeywell is a lot easier to use! Screws included (but not shown in the photo)
