1970s ANGLEPOISE LAMP: NEEDS REPAIR (Elworth CW11)

We've had this lamp in our loft for the last 20 years. We bought it in the 1970s but there seems to be a fault with the wiring or switch. This is beyond my skill set but perhaps a person with electrical skills would like a project. Collection from Elworth, Sandbach CW11.
