All functions of the device work, but only from the main control panel at the front.
Tested as working by playing a DVD as well as a video cassette.
The remote receiver on the device is faulty - but might be repairable by a hobbyist - then the remote control could work.
As seen on the underside there is rust possibly caused by something internal which may have caused the infra red receiver to be damaged.
