You put treats under the compartments and flaps and the dog has to work out how to get them. Our dogs kept cheating and flipping the entire thing over and running away with the covering cups. Consequently the cups are slightly chewed, but overall the item is in good condition with loads of use left in it. Probably not suitable for dogs who will eat plastic mind.
