Framed Peter Scott print (Sunnyside RH19)
Gifted
18d
- One of the classic Peter Scott paintings from the late '40s. Framed under glass - generally good condition but dusty and a splash or two of emulsion paint on the frame.

Beer crate side tables (Sunnyside RH19)
Gifted
45d
- Not your average pieces of furniture. This is a matching pair of side tables, which are simply drop-in wooden tops on a pair of stacked beer crates. Very simple and can be used to store beer as well! Note that these are not intended to be immaculate - they were made for the equivalent of a man-cave, where appearance was not important. Size of each is 30 x 40 x 55cm tall. To go as a pair. (Sorry, no beer included...)
Free:
Five small glazed plant pots (Sunnyside RH19)
50d
- Five pots, in a matching style. Each 11cm outer diameter x 9cm tall - no hole in the bottom, so suitable for indoor use.

Outdoor plants - Yuccas (Sunnyside RH19)
Gifted
64d
- Two hardy outdoor Yuccas - I think these may be Yucca Elephantipes, but not certain. These were potted a couple of years ago and are now fairly pot-bound. They really need to either go in bigger pots or go into the ground. The one on the left is about 80cm tall (inc. pot) x 75cm across - the other is a bit smaller. Note that over time these can grow quite large - to the size of a small tree - and that they are actually quite spiky-ended. Feel free to ask for both, or just one if that's all you need.

Big House/Conservatory Plant (Sunnyside RH19)
Gifted
66d
- First thing to note: it's big. In the photo it's the one in the foreground, not the background. This is a large potted indoor plant display consisting of three Dracaena Marginata, with a large flowering Christmas Cactus at the base. It's at least 20 years old and it's large - over 1.7m tall, and over 1m x 1m wide/deep. It would be ideal in a large hallway or conservatory. The pot on its own is quite large - approx 40cm x 40cm. In terms of size, it doesn't have to be that big, because Dracaena Marginata can be chopped right back down to the original stem and it will grow again (this has been done once already, probably a decade ago). If you're interested but want it cut back, I can do that for you, ready for transport.
Free:
Portable electronics case (Sunnyside RH19)
Gifted
94d
- These cases were part of an overseas project that got cancelled due to Covid. They are very strong locking cases with a dustproof seal around the door and a strong carry handle, and a recess/cutouts for solar input connectors. Size is 260 x 260 x 170mm. These are heavily built in powder-coated steel - although relatively small, the total weight per case is over 3 kilos. There are 4 of these cases available. Could possibly be used as key storage cabinets? The internal fixing frames for internal battery/controllers are also available for them.
Free:
Pair of car ramps (Sunnyside RH19)
Gifted
214d
- Light surface rust and a few dinks here and there, but otherwise OK. Obviously they are quite heavy!
Free:
Long Carry Case (Sunnyside RH19)
Gifted
255d
- Given to me in a job lot of random items, but I have no use for it. This is a carry case for long items, such as things that cannot be carried outside without a case (e.g. bows, etc.). It's in fully usable condition with egg crate foam lining, but it's a bit grubby and one of the four catches is missing (but it closes securely with three). External dimensions 1120 x 300 x 150mm approx.
Free:
30m Coiled Garden Hose (Sunnyside RH19)
Gifted
259d
- Green self-coiling hose 30m long, with click-together end fittings and multi-function spray head. Virtually new - probably only been used a couple of times.
Free:
Dimmable LED candle bulb (Sunnyside RH19)
Expired
300d
- This is a brand new B22 (22mm bayonet) fitting dimmable LED candle bulb. Colour temp is 4000K (i.e. fairly cool white), brightness is equivalent to ~25W conventional bulb. I bought it for a lamp in the centre of a room and for that it's not bright enough! It would be better suited to mood lighting or a table lamp.
Free:
Wicker Picnic Basket (Lingfield RH7)
Gifted
349d
- This is a picnic basket with four each of plate, mug, knife, fork and spoon. It's reasonably good quality, with leather strap fixings and leather holders for the plates. The mugs have their own removable wicker carrier. Size is 46 x 32 x 24cm approx. It's fairly heavy as the plates & mugs are porcelain. As can be seen from the last picture, there is a large coffee stain on the base lining inside - it should be a relatively easy task to either re-cover this or cover it with a drop-in base panel.
Free:
Small/med wooden chest (Lingfield RH7)
Gifted
357d
- This is a small wooden chest with over-centre clasps and edge/corner cappings. Despite appearances it is of relatively lightweight construction. Size is 50 x 30 x 30cm approx. It originally had a built-in lock and this is missing - but it has a hasp and staple on the front so a padlock could be added. It does have stickers/markings of a previous owner, as seen in the photos - which might take some effort to remove, if you care about that... Location is central Lingfield, but collection from EG might be possible if needed.
Free:
Epson inkjet cartridges (Sunnyside RH19)
Expired
1y
- One full set of six, one partial set (four of six) aftermarket/compatible cartridges. These have the part number shown in the second photo. Intended to fit Epson Expression Photo printers type XP-55/750/760/850/950 and a few others (they fitted my XP-860 for example).
Free:
Smoking / Display Cabinet (Sunnyside RH19)
Gifted
1y
- This is a small wooden display cabinet, which in years gone by would have been used as a smoking cabinet, with little racks on either side to hold (I think) pipes, and two drawers for consumables. But, for those that don't smoke, it's fine just as a display cabinet. It's not perfect, with some minor damage on two corners, but neither are visually too intrusive. The key operates the lock OK but it doesn't actually lock the cabinet! Size is 360 x 260 x 200mm approx.
Free:
2kW Flat Fan Heater (Sunnyside RH19)
Gifted
1y
- Good working order. "Flat" in the sense that it is designed to be used in the orientation shown in the photo. Relatively small (260 x 260 x 120mm tall, approx). Low and high heat setting, plus cold blow.
Free:
Cuckoo Clock (Sunnyside RH19)
Gifted
1y
- This is a wall-hung mechanical Innsbruck cuckoo clock that was put into storage almost 20 years ago. It was fully working when taken down, but has not been tested since - it may work fine, or it might not! And, like almost all mechanical clocks that have been moved, it may need a little fettling to work properly. Although it did actually come from Innsbruck, it's nothing more than a fairly basic-quality item. But it does have all of the classic parts, including pendulum, "pine cone" weights and a little bird that comes out of a hatch.
Free:
35 litre Rucksack (Sunnyside RH19)
Gifted
1y
- This is a basic, simple lightweight 35l rucksack, which is virtually unused (used once, I think). IIRC it's a Millets own-brand with zipped lid pocket, two large zipped side pockets and a main compartment. Material is a waterproofed canvas-type, and back is padded but with no frame.
Free:
Oval Dressing Table Mirror (Sunnyside RH19)
Expired
1y
- Believed to date from mid last century, this is a medium/large oval mirror with metal feet (added later) intended for use horizontally on a dressing table or similar. It's 450mm across at its widest.
Free:
Diesel Additive (Sunnyside RH19)
Expired
1y
- One small 100ml bottle of Mannol Diesel Ester additive, unopened.
Free:
Dusk to dawn timer (Sunnyside RH19)
Expired
1y
- This is a TimeGuard security light timer, designed for use with standard indoor bayonet-fitting pendant lamps. Can be used with old-fashioned filament bulbs (max 100W) or modern energy-saving bulbs (max 20W). It will do either random intervals during darkness, or turn on at dusk and turn off at a specific time. It's fully working, with instructions, but note that it needs reasonably high ambient light levels to work (it won't work in a heavily shaded room). Note also that the instructions to programme it are a bit hard to follow - but it does work once you've got to grips with that!
Free:
Pair walking poles (Sunnyside RH19)
Gifted
1y
- This is a matching pair of adjustable-length walking poles, which appear to be unused or only very lightly used. Twist-lock length adjustment, and sprung shock absorption which can be turned off. They come with tip covers and end baskets for use on soft ground.
Free:
Mantel Clock (Sunnyside RH19)
Gifted
1y
- One wooden cased single-chime mantel clock, with Enfield mechanism - made in England - with what looks to be the original key. This was working until recently and was then moved. It now doesn't, but probably just needs adjustment - it has not been over-wound. Note that although this is pretty enough, it is not a finely crafted item. We think it is probably an apprentice piece, made by a dockyard wood worker early-mid last century (but that's just a guess based on what we know about its previous owner).
Free:
Extendable window cleaner (Sunnyside RH19)
Gifted
1y
- One extending arm mop, suitable for wiping over windows, tiles etc. Ideal for cleaning the windscreen on big cars and vans for those not tall enough to reach otherwise. The pads is replaceable - it has one unused pad and one lightly used one.
Free:
Assortment of hand tools (Sunnyside RH19)
Expired
1y
- Selection of good, usable hand tools, including a very good (and very large) Sheffield made wood rasp, pliers, long-reach flat blade and ratchet screwdrivers, large Phillips driver, heavy hammer and planishing (I think) hammer. I don't mind if you want only specific tools, but the one thing I don't want any more of is people saying they will collect and then changing their minds, because it just wastes so much time. So if you say you will collect, you will only get one chance and then it will be offered to someone else.
Free:
Battery & Alternator Tester (Sunnyside RH19)
Expired
1y
- One AutoXS compact battery/alt tester. Believed to be fully working.
Free:
Wet & Dry Vacuum Cleaner (Sunnyside RH19)
Gifted
1y
- One Goblin Wet & Dry vac, on castors - great for workshop and DIY use, but sadly I don't have the space for it any more. Good for heavier duty use than a typical vac, and will pick up water no problem. It has a float cutout so that it will auto-stop if knocked over with liquid in. Fully working, with hose and tools. 580mm tall.
Free:
Mains UV Fly Zapper (Sunnyside RH19)
Expired
1y
- One mains-powered fly killer, with hanging chain. Worked when last used, and still believed to be in working order - the UV lamp lights Ok but not tested any further than that.
Free:
Pop-up camping bucket (Sunnyside RH19)
Gifted
1y
- This is a fairly large folding bucket - overall diameter 330mm at the top and when folded, 200mm diameter at the base when opened. I've carried this in my camper for several years but it's never been used - it's a bit bigger than I need.
Free:
Small selection of hand tools (Sunnyside RH19)
Expired
1y
- Old but still usable. Would prefer them to go as one lot, but failing that if you only want specific items, please let me know which.
Free:
Camping toilet (Sunnyside RH19)
Gifted
1y
- To some people, this has too much of a "Eeeww" factor to consider - if so, read no further... This is a small PortaPotti, intended for use in camper vans. As far as I'm aware, it was used occasionally for only a few years, at which point it was cleaned and put into storage in a loft - where it stayed for almost 20 years. It's clean and believed to be in good working order. It's small - just 320mm tall x 400mm deep x 330mm wide approx.
