Request: Coping Stones (Duddingston EH15) Withdrawn 18d - We’re looking for 7 metres of traditional apex (twice weathered) coping stones to put on top of a single skin party wall that has exposed bricks on one side and has been harled on the other. Width 140-170mm. Ideally we’d like to reuse some old stones grey/buff with a weathered texture, but we’d consider new ones too. Happy to collect. Free: Geraniums and Vinca for groundcover (Duddingston EH15) Gifted 34d - These geraniums and vinca have been cleared from a patch in our rear garden. They’re pretty resilient plants and will be great for anyone needing ground cover, but they’re not potted up and need to be planted quickly or at least kept in some water. I’ll put them in our drive outside our house so anyone interested can just help themselves. Please bring bags to collect them as like to keep the tubs they’re in ! Message me for my address in Duddingston.

Free: Lightbulbs (Duddingston EH15) Expired 292d - A collection of halogen and other lightbulbs that we can’t use, as seen in photo. For collection as a whole, not individual bulbs, by 8th August otherwise they’ll be for recycling. Free: Foam mattress topper (Duddingston EH15) Gifted 322d - IKEA foam mattress topper (Sultan Tarsta). Fits on top of standard double bed. Photo shows it on top of a King Size bed. There’s a few stains, but the cover is removable and washable.

Free: 2 cushion fillers and one zipped cover (Duddingston EH15) Expired 1y - 2 cushion fillers with one reddish brown zipped cover. They came with an old Habitat settee. Approx 38x38 cm. The cushion filling (small foam pieces) could be used as filling for a craft project.

Free: 2 Single Duvets (Duddingston EH15) Gifted 1y - Two old single duvets. I think they have down/ feather filling, so a bit thinner than they were. A few small stains/ discolouration on both but not very noticeable. The filling could be used for a craft project. To be taken together.

Free: Moulded pillow (Duddingston EH15) Gifted 1y - IKEA foam pillow moulded to give neck support. I have no idea how old it is, probably 10 years or so. The foam could be useful for filling for craft projects.

Free: Used cleaning and laundry items (Duddingston EH15) Gifted 1y - Random collection of partly used cleaning and laundry items including carpet shampoo, spray starch, stain devil, suede/nubuck cleaner, liquid handwash.

Free: Christmas Candle (Duddingston EH15) Gifted 1y - Would anyone like a partly used chunky Christmas Candle? Has been used for some years, but time for it to go from household. Could also be used to melt down to make into new candles.

Free: Cast iron trivet (Duddingston EH15) Gifted 1y - Heavy dark grey iron trivet. 40 cm x 20 cm Some small rust marks and minor chips.

Free: Down Sleeping bag (Duddingston EH15) Gifted 1y - Old down sleeping bag with stuff sac. Hasn’t been used for a very long time. Could be cleaned or the down stuffing could be used for a project. Weighs approx 3.kg

Free: Cake decorating equipment (Duddingston EH15) Gifted 1y - Used cake decorating equipment, including a turn table, circle markers, ruler with plastic serrated edge, egg separator, a few icing nozzles (icing bag not included).

Free: Plastic lolly maker and gingerbread man cutter (Duddingston EH15) Gifted 1y - Lolly maker - fill each compartment with juice etc and pop on the top (with a stick).Freeze. One of the tops is missing, but can make 3 lollies. Plastic gingerbread person cutter for biscuits.

Free: Plenty of packing paper! (Duddingston EH15) Gifted 1y - We’ve given away some and recycled some but we still have some boxes of good quality packing paper available. It’s been used once, so crumpled but clean. Great if you have things to pack away or for moving house. It’s packed in boxes. We’ve just moved house and we can return boxes to the removers, but not the paper. So no packing boxes only available. The paper keeps coming so you can help yourself on a first come, first serve basis, until our next recycling.

Free: Chai Mix (Duddingston EH15) Expired 1y - Unopened Punjabi Junction Madala Chai mix from a Christmas hamper, possibly 2021. Says expiry date- six months from opening.

Free: Old Aga toast maker (Duddingston EH15) Gifted 1y - Old Aga toast maker for toasting bread, crumpets etc on boiling plate of a range cooker. Still sold. Giving away as we no longer have this kind of cooker.

Free: Packing paper (Duddingston EH15) Gifted 1y - Lots and lots of used packing paper, so most of it is crinkled from a single use. Ideal if you have things to pack up and / or are moving house. We’ve just moved and can’t return the paper to the removers. Take as much as you’d like. (We can return the boxes, so we don’t have any to offer).

Free: Pencils (Comely Bank EH4) Gifted 1y - Bundle mainly of plain and coloured pencils, plus a few extras. Used condition but fine to use or maybe suitable for an upcycling project. Must be collected by Weds at latest

Free: Old sprung bolster. (Comely Bank EH4) Expired 1y - This old (50 years +) sprung bolster with some kind of wadding has just been dismantled from bed frame. Just thought it’s worth posting in case anyone can make use of the springs/ wadding for a project, otherwise we’ll be taking to landfill. Must be picked up by Mon am at latest and preferably before then. It is heavy. It’s on ground floor of maindoor house and you will need to bring assistance to move it. Approx 4’6” x 6’ . Folded over and tied as in photo.

Free: Boots autofocus slide projector (Comely Bank EH4) Gifted 1y - Boots autofocus slide projector plus 36 slide magazine ( for projecting slide transparencies). Good condition in box. Not used in a long time, but just switched on ok. Must be collected by Tues am at latest and preferably before then. Maindoor house, easy collection in Stockbridge/Comely Bank area.

Free: Basket -one handle broken (Comely Bank EH4) Expired 1y - Large basket that’s been used for storing firewood. One handle broken, but still useful.

Free: plastic cutlery and plates (Comely Bank EH4) Gifted 1y - Plastic cutlery (lots of forks, 20 + spoons and a few knives) and 19 disposable plasticised small plates and over 20 larger plates. Left over from a party some years ago. Ideal for an event or the plates could be useful for crafts.

Free: Cat food - ( out of date) (Comely Bank EH4) Gifted 1y - Could anyone use this cat food? The select slices (5x chicken, 3x turkey 1x poultry) are only just out of date (26/10/22). The 5 duck pouches are a bit longer (07/08/22). If you’re interested say when you could collect by Monday. Maindoor house .

Free: Standard double mattress (Comely Bank EH4) Gifted 1y - A Blindcraft double mattress approx. 4’6 /137 cms x 6’ /195 cm The mattress is used in good condition apart from a little discolouration/ staining to the left of the picture. (It looks darker as I’ve just tried to rub it a bit with water!). Other side seems fine. It has fire safely label. We bought the mattress for a guest bed, so it’s only had occasional use. Just posting in case anyone can give it a new lease of life, otherwise it will go to landfill. It needs to be collected by Mon am at the latest, preferably before then and you need to carry it out with assistance. It’s on 3rd floor of our maindoor house in Comely Bank/ Stockbridge.

Free: Jewellery chest (Comely Bank EH4) Gifted 1y - Cut Delightful little decorated wooden jewellery/ treasure chest (20cmx20cm) Needs some TLC - see photo handle needs fixing , top left drawer needs 2x new sides and gluing back together. Great restoration/ upcycling project. For collection in next few days to stop it going to landfill. Free: Laundry basket (Comely Bank EH4) Gifted 1y - Used condition, no longer has a lid, but fine for use. 59x39x28 cm For collection within the next few days please.

Free: Peter’s Projection World Map Jigsaw (Comely Bank EH4) Expired 1y - Our family did this years ago. I can’t guarantee if it’s complete, but could still be interesting to do. As you can see most of the sea pieces have been stuck to a board. Maindoor house and easy pick up whenever suits as I can leave it in the porch or outside if we’re out.

Free: 2 air mattresses (may need puncture repair) (Comely Bank EH4) Expired 1y - 2 single air mattresses. There have been one or two repairs already and might need some further attention before use. Spare patches included as in photo. Not used a lot.

Free: Jewellery/ little treasures chest 20cmsx20cms (Comely Bank EH4) Gifted 1y - This cute jewellery chest (20cmsx20 cms) needs some TLC. Suitable for a restoration/up-cycling project to give it a new lease of life to store a few wee treasures. See photos. The top drawer needs a couple of new sides to restore, a drawer handle needs re-fixing or replacing. The lager door also has some damage. For collection in the next few days please.
