Request: Tea Chest/Tea Crate (Wooden) (Old Walcot SN3) Withdrawn - I'm looking for a tea chest (large crate used for shipping tea wholesale, often used in years gone past by removal firms). Or a wooden box/crate of roughly similar size. Can collect.

Free: Salvaged Li-Ion cells (Old Walcot SN3) Gifted - Couple of dozen small Li-Ion rechargeable cells recovered from discarded consumer products (it really is shocking that they are used in disposables, but that's a rant for another day). Useable in hobby electronics projects, but please note these are not suitable for the average consumer - will need a dedicated charger circuit and you should know how to use them safely and responsibly. Free: 2x 42" TVs (old, heavy) (Old Walcot SN3) Gifted - Two large screen TVs - 1x Toshiba 42XV555D, 1x Sony KDL-40S2010, 42" or thereabouts (you can google the exact specifications). These are not smart TVs nor are they HD. Most likely 15+ years old, and definitely heavy. Screens were functional when put into storage having been used as part of stage props, but stands are incomplete or missing, as are remote controls. Inputs include HDMI, SCART, component video and VGA, so you can connect them to pretty much any kind of video signal. For exact specifications you can find archive copies of the manuals online. Request: Laptop power supply (Old Walcot SN3) Received - Looking for a laptop power supply for a Lenovo Thinkpad X220. They are typically rated at 20V and have a circular (barrel) plug into the laptop. It's a bit of a long shot, but I will take one if you have it. Photo shows an example including the barrel jack. (Updated from previous posting as do now have a docking station thanks to a generous freegler)

Request: Jiffy bags (medium sizes) (Old Walcot SN3) Withdrawn - I'm after some jiffy bags and padded envelopes that can be re-used, suitable for posting medium-sized parcels like paperback books, small cuddly collectables. Can collect around Swindon area. Request: PVC pipe offcuts (Old Walcot SN3) Expired - I'm looking for PVC pipes of the kind usually used for waste water - fairly rigid, and either 22mm or 32mm diameter (not the much wider pipes used for big downpipes and drains). Any lengths over 60cm long (a couple of feet in old money) would be good. Condition not relevant as it's for an art project rather than actual plumbing. Can collect within range of Central Swindon, or Shrivenham. Request: LED Decorative Lights (Old Walcot SN3) Expired - Christmas is (nearly!) over. If you have bright LED lights that are now surplus to requirements, please let me know. Things that run off batteries may not be bright enough so I'm interested in anything that needs a transformer. This is for set decoration for an amateur theatre show next year. Multi-coloured strips are particularly welcome. Part-damaged items considered (a photo helps). Request: Paint - bright colours (Old Walcot SN3) Expired - I'm looking for spare emulsion paint in any "bright" colour. It's for painting a stage set with a carnival or fairground feel, so I'm less interested in "white with a hint of" colours and more interested an anything bright and bold. Matt Emulsion preferably. Swindon area or Shrivenham area. Request: Light bulbs and sockets to build a chaser display (Old Walcot SN3) Expired - I'm looking for parts to make a row (or several rows) of chaser lights. If you happen to have actual fairground lights, that would be great. More realistically, if you have a job lot of light bulbs and batten holders that might do the job, I would be interested. I'm looking for mains powered lights, in order to get decent power, and not battery operated garden lights or Christmas tree decorations. A row of 40w or 60w bulbs maybe? Open to ideas! Bit of a long shot, but no harm in asking. The picture gives a rough idea of what I'm trying to build Request: PC desktop power supply (Old Walcot SN3) Expired - Looking for a power supply from a PC desktop to power a custom light project. The power supply unit is usually a grey metal case with a mains input and switch, a fan, and the output cable to attach to the computer's motherboard and peripherals, outputting 5V and 12V. I am prepared to take an otherwise unwanted desktop computer and extract the power supply from it it if necessary. (This is not the same as a laptop power supply, which has a different design optimized for charging batteries.) Request: Washboard (Old Walcot SN3) Expired - Does anyone have an old washboard? Ideally, a wood frame and metal body, of the kind that was (and I suppose still is) used for skiffle bands. The condition isn't particularly important. It's for a theatre prop. Request: Bookshelves (tall, wide) (Old Walcot SN3) Expired - I am looking for tall, wide bookshelves: something that can go floor to ceiling and with wide shelves. (200cm high x 80cm wide would be ideal) Any style or colour or condition considered: wood, mdf or even metal. Can collect most units in that size range by car, if they can be dismantled with a screwdriver. Thanks! Request: Meat Slicer (Old Walcot SN3) Received - Local (Swindon) church is looking for a meat slicer for use in kitchen to support a number of charitable and social activities. Doesn't need to be industrial quality, a domestic one in working order would be fine. Request: Rechargeable batteries to upcycle (Old Walcot SN3) Expired - I'm interested in upcycling small rechargeable batteries that can be "pulled" from otherwise dead equipment. Anything that charges via USB would probably be ideal (wireless keyboards, mice, remote control toys, bluetooth speakers, even old mobiles). I may also be interested in the heavier battery packs that power laptops, rechargeable flashlights and e-scooters. Amazingly, some tobacco vapes have rechargeable cells inside even though they are not recharged. Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) and and Lithium Polymer (Li-Po) in various forms are the type I'm looking for. Feel free to get in touch, if not sure just ask or send me a picture. Old style Nickel-Cadmium and NiMH batteries not wanted. (( Edited to add - for avoidance of doubt, modern LoPo and LiIon batteries require care if you want to reuse them in this way. They may or may have protection circuitry if you rip them out of old equipment, and a charger set up incorrectly can cause damage to the cells and in some cases start a fire. )) Anything that I don't use will be disposed of responsibly.

Request: Power Bank (Old Walcot SN3) Received - USB Power bank, any capacity or size. The rectangular ones (about 1 inch x 1 inch x 5 inch, illustrated) sold by poundland would be just fine, but I'll consider any size as long as it holds charge.

Request: LED lighting (spares/repairs) including xmas decorations (Old Walcot SN3) Expired - Looking for low power LED lighting to upcycle. This includes Christmas decorations (even if the controller or mains transformer isn't working, as the lights can sometimes be salvaged. Particularly interested in anything that colour cycles. Request: Hand held controller for games control (e.g. wii nunchuck) (Old Walcot SN3) Expired - I am looking for used controllers for game consoles - most interested in the ones that are held in one hand, like the Wii Nunchuck. Doesn't matter if in tatty condition, though obviously it would be great of they are in working order.n It's for use in an electronics project. Request: HDMI splitter (Old Walcot SN3) Expired - Does anyone have an HDMI splitter, two-way? That is: one HDMI input and two identical HDMI outputs? This is for a low-resolution signal so it doesn't have to be the very latest kid; quite an old one would probably work. Thanks in advance. Request: USB hub (Old Walcot SN3) Expired - Looking for a USB hub. In simplest form, something that allows 2-4 devices to be connected to one USB socket on a laptop, etc. Also interested in the more complex units that do that and also have a video output like HDMI, VGA, DVI. These are sometimes badged as "DisplayLink" boxes and let you connect an additional monitor to a laptop via the USB port.. Request: Long Cable: HDMI or CAT5 (Old Walcot SN3) Expired - Looking for a long HDMI cable or a long ethernet CAT5 (LAN Ethernet) cable. At the time of writing, I'm yet to measure the exact length but the sweet spot is probably around 10 metres. I need to transmit video over the length of a hall for a presentation, and although I have the tech to set up converters and adaptors but sometimes a good old-fashioned "long bit of wire" is more reliable. Request: DVD player remote control (Old Walcot SN3) Received - Bit of a rarity, but I have a DVD player without a working remote control. If you have a remote control for a Hitachi DVP435UK and for some reason you don't have a DVD player to match it, I'll take the controller off your hands. Or maybe you have a "universal" remote control that might be compatible. I appreciate this is a long shot, but it doesn't hurt to ask Request: USB webcam (or perhaps Analogue Camera) (Old Walcot SN3) Expired - I'm on the lookout for a USB webcam that can be attached to small computer like a Raspberry PI. If it can be fitted to a tripod or stand, or it has a built in microphone, so much the better but not essential. Alternatively, perhaps a old Analogue video camera with working composite video and audio outputs might work. Not looking for super high quality. If you have something you can share but are not sure, let me know the manufacturer and model info. (If you are interested in the "why", I want to capture some head and shoulders video in real time in one room and project it into another location in the same building, with a little bit of green-screen processing. I have the software, and can prototype using a laptop webcam, but want to build something more standalone and robust). Free: History books (Old Walcot SN3) Gifted - Five history books on monarchs of England. Condition isn't great, but a good read for an amateur history buff. Not connected to any school curriculum, would suit adult or older teen readers with an interest in the subject.

Request: Projector screen (Old Walcot SN3) Received - I'm looking for an old projection screen, preferably a large one. I'm not worried too much about condition, and in particular if the stand/tripod is a bit dodgy that can be worked around. I want to add a very reflective screen to a stage set, so I would probably put it in a dedicated frame anyway and hang it on a wall. The important thing is that the silver/white surface does its job. Able to collect, Swindon area. ALSO interested in any digital projectors. Doesn't have to be high res or widescreen, but if you have any VGA-quality projection equipment with a pretty bright image, I'd like to hear from you.

Request: Wifi Router that is mesh-capable (Old Walcot SN3) Expired - Looking to re-purpose Wifi routers to experiment with creating a wifi mesh. A bit of a long shot, because mesh-capable routers are relatively hard to come by and a lot of cheap ones can't be persuaded to do meshing. If you have a router, tell me the make and model and I can figure out if it's mesh-capable. For techies: I'm looking for something on this list to start with Bit of a long shot, but it never hurts to ask.
