Computers and Mobile Devices (Wolfe & Reed)

Since these items will be very popular, there will be a different way to allocate them fairly. Instead of just requesting the items, you will bid on them!

Since we don’t use cash or trading on Trash Nothing, you will bid with Trash Nothing Karma Points. How do you get Points? Just having a Trash Nothing account gives you Karma, so you already have 10 points. In addition, you get another longevity point for every full year you’ve been a member (up to 10). Plus you get a generosity point for each offer you have made (and not deleted) on Trash Nothing (up to 10).

In summary: 10 points just for being; one more longevity point (up to 10) for each year; and one more generosity point (up to 10) for each offer made. Add them up to give you 10 to 30 points.

Using these points, place a bid on one or more of the items listed in this offer. State how many points you bid on each item: E.g. “I bid 7 points on item 416, 8 points on item 558, and 2 points on item 283.” (That’s just an example.) I will offer the item to the person who has bid the highest. In the event of a tie, please include the reason why the tie should be awarded to you.

To look up your longevity and generosity points, go to “Settings” (from the menu on the upper right on the home page in both the app and the web), then tap or click “View Public Profile”. That will show “Member for XX years, YY Offers, ZZ Requests.” If XX or YY are bigger than 10, then use 10. For instance, if your profile says: “Member for 7 years, 23 Offers, 5 Requests”, then your points are 10 + 7 + 10 = 27. Months don’t count, only full years. Only offers made before today count. If you only use email and forgot your account password, go to the website and use the “forgot password” link.

I will only use bids from 1 message per person. If you send an update, I may or may not use it, so plan your bid carefully. I will verify your points. If you bid more points that you have, your bid will be invalid and deleted. All communications will be via Trash Nothing. I will not call or text you.

Yes, this is a game. It will make it easier for me to decide who gets what. You will have a better chance of winning a less popular item, so bid strategically. If no one bids on an item, I will offer it separately later. The winners will be chosen after 1 week.

Resell: My goal is for these items to be used again. If this happens because you sell it, I have no problem with that. I would prefer that they not sit in storage again like they have been at my house.
