Pick your own.
I have a thicket of damson trees with plenty of fruit still on, but I've picked what I can reach easily from the ground. If you are taller than 5'6", or don't mind climbing my steps or ladders you are welcome to them before they are over-ripe or fall off. Wear nettle/bramble-proof clothes.
Early apples. Laxton* and Worcester ready and best eaten soon, so not worth taking many
* sweet, crisp, loses flavour and texture VERY soon after picking
Midseason. Lord Lambourne. Cox type, pick now, store carefully in cool place, eat till end of October.
Cookers. Bramleys soon ready to pick
Late. Chivers may be ready to pick
Windfalls. Late eaters won't ripen but OK for stewing. Bramley cookers
