This must be from at least the early 1900s. It is the real deal. It is twisted heavy wire in a wooden handle that used to be red and still has the red patina. Genuine article! for sure.
It is actually serviceable. Give it a good Brillo pad.
Not sure where it came from, but it needs to go.
