Sony DVD player - needs fixing (Corsham SN13)

This DVD player accepted a DVD and then switched off and wouldn't switch back on again. After some time it switched back on and off, then it finally switched on for a third time and we were able to get the DVD out. It seems to me that this could perhaps be fixed?? by someone who knows what they are doing? It is beyond my ability, but if you think you might have success then you are welcome to have it.
