Two iron poles that stick in the ground (when not frozen). One pole has two hooks at the top, and the other has one, upon which bird feeders, suet, etc. can be hung. Between the iron poles is a broomstick, with a platform feeder hanging on it. Birds love to sit on the broomstick while they contemplate darting to the platform. Each pole has a PVC pipe that is too wide for squirrels to climb. If the system is away from trees or other things from which squirrels can jump, it is squirrel proof. The pipes have hardware cloth inserts to keep squirrels from climbing up inside the pipes. Well tested -- it works! N.B. if you have bears in your neighborhood, I've been told that birdseed can attract them.
