Leaking steam generating iron (Raveningham NR14)

Have had this John Lewis a while, but recently seemed to leak so cleaned sole plate and worked fine but seems to be leaking from the base. If anyone thinks they can mend it you're welcome to ha e it - have now replaced - otherwise will recycle at the dump.
