Camping gear (Humble west of 59)

Want to get my 4 daughters, ages 4-16, out into the "outdoor" life with camping. Want to start small, like a night in the backyard a few times without electronics, then to weekends at state parks. Eventually working towards as "primitive" as possible. Anything would be appreciated, as we only have 2 sleeping bags and a privacy tent for shower/changing.
