This was a very good umbrella, but a small piece of it got dislodged, so now it has issues. I have the small, metal tab that came out, but I haven't been able to figure out how to fit it properly back in to the umbrella. If the tab is simply inserted into the shaft, it will hold the two shaft sections together, but then the umbrella cannot be closed. If I remove the tab, then the umbrella can be closed, but then there is nothing to hold to two shaft sections together. Consequently, the next time that you open the umbrella, the top section will go flying off, which will be both startling and potentially dangerous. However, if you have a use for an umbrella that can be left open all the time, this one could work for you.
Also, there is one tip where the canopy keeps coming off, leaving the tip exposed, which can be a safety issue.
