This wingback chair has a few cosmetic issues on the original upholstery, so we've kept a slipcover on it. (I should have tucked it in better before taking the photo!). The footrest works fine, it just looks strange because of the angle in the photo. The seat cushion is SOFT when you first sit down, but once you're in it, it's comfortable.
