Two fun food makers from a smoke and pet-free home. Our kids have grown up a bit now so don't use them any more.
The popcorn maker is pretty kid-friendly, in that it's a contained metal heating cup that blows hot air. Just tip a measure of popping corn into the middle, turn it on and then wait until it starts hosing out fresh popcorn. Used with supervision, it's very safe.
The candy floss maker does require adult supervision at all times though since the central part of the drum gets hot. You tip in a measure of coloured sugar (that's what in the bags) and then the centre heats up and spins until threads of cotton candy start spinning off into the white plastic bowl. Just use a wooden chopstick or wooden spoon handle to wrap it all up into a fluffy ball.
