Canon MG6650 inkjet printer ink absorber full (Benson OX10)

Canon MG6650 inkjet printer with almost new printhead, and some cartridges. Great printer but hasn't worked for many months as the ink absorber pads (hidden away at the back of the printer) are full. Canon are not interested in repairing (replacing the pads) and looking at YouTube, the process of accessing and removing the pads to clean them manually is far from simple, and I'm not prepared to spend that much time on it - I already have a replacement printer. If someone wants to give cleaning them a go, they are welcome to the have it.
