Dyson DC59 cordless vacuum & tools for parts or repair (Holyford EX24)

The battery seems to be faulty. It runs for about 2 seconds and then stops with orange light flashing - whether you charge for 30 seconds or 3 hours. For parts or repair or purchase of new battery (Dyson ones cost about £60 and others are available for much less - but you take your chances!). I don't know if it will work properly with a new battery as I just acquired the system via Freegle.
