Checked fabric-clothing/PorkPieHat (Cheltenham)

If anyone has any fabric or old clothing which could be used to make a childs dog tooth style jacket for fancy dress I would really appreciate it. My nephew wants to look like the character Harry Wormwood from the film Matilda. I need to make a jacket and yellow shirt and a pork pie hat. Any items would be appreciated.
