Pussywillow trees (Williton)

About a dozen young pussywillow trees from around 45cm/18" to 60cm/2'.
Also known as 'sallows' and 'palm'- these trees like a wet/damp environment, stream/riverbank or edge of wet/damp ditch. Will, if not pollarded (cut to ground) annually in late spring, grow to smallish trees c 5m/15'. If pollarded, each year the wands will grow about 3.5m/ 4' and once mature enough to flower, will produce in early spring, those adorable silky fur grey flower buds which give the tree its country name. Not suitable for small gardens unless kept in pots. Ideal for a wild hedge or grove.
