middle speakers for SonyDVDplayer (Riverside South)

I have a Sony surround sound DVD player that works, however is missing the middle speakers. Was just going to purchase a used pair to fit but the slots have this special adapter and not sure regular speaker wire will work. Any assistance in finding either the ends to fit so any middle speakers with regular speaker wire will work or the actual middle speakers for playback
