Blackthorn for wildlife hedges (Wimborne Town centre, BH21)

I have some blackthorn that has self-seeded on my allotment. It is very good as a wildlife hedging shrub. Very prickly. Various sizes - most quite small, and one or two large ones. It is the shrub that has sloe berries on it, but I've never seen them so far. The picture shows what it looks like when flowering (not at the moment!).
