Project - Sewing Box (RH11)

I bought this sewing box, which looks lovely but has a very strange smell. I think it might be the paint used to refurbish it before I bought it. I cannot get rid of the smell and I think it needs sanding down and repainting, new material inside. I think one of the drawers open but has become stuck. It has been in my shed for sometime now.
