Remoska cooker (Trowbridge BA14)

Bought from Lakeland a few years ago. It does work well BUT has 2 notable problems.
1) electric cable melted as too near gas hob and is covered with red insulation tape.
2) on/off switch on handle broke and is covered in black insulation tape. Switch on/off at wall socket.

We have used it in this condition but suggest it would be best used for spare parts or the switch and cable should be replaced by a qualified electrician.
