I have been saving corks for quite a while (not all from bottles opened in a week!), and it seems a pity to waste the natural bark from the trees. I started by using them to make little figures for the children, making a champagne cork into a face with a hat/shawl on, or straight corks for the bodies of matchstick men, maybe with a ping-pong ball head! For crafting anyway.
