Request: Humanitarian Aid (Prestbury SK10) Expired 1y - Hope & Aid Direct continue to send aid to Ukraine (38 trucks to date) / Locally we partner with Macclesfield Ukrainian Aid providing emergency humanitarian supplies to the front line and also CareUKCharity (Warrington) who support families in need across the north west We need blankets, sleeping bags, camping equipment, dressings, orthopaedic and medicines, mens boots & trainers, good quality winter clothes (mens, womens, children), camouflage materials, new underwear, nappies, toiletries, food, solar chargers, water purification, toys, gardening & mechanical tools, seeds, candles and more. We have drop-off points at Scoop & Scales, Spiveys Web & The Hope Centre in Macclesfield, Henry’s café in Prestbury and The United Reformed Church in Wilmslow . We would be really grateful for your donations Request: Aid for refugees (Prestbury SK10) Expired 1y - The charity Hope & Aid Direct are now collecting for the second truck leaving later this month to take humanitarian aid tk refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine. If you are able to donate any of the items below we would really appreciate it. You can take items directly to our lock up in Congleton on Tuesday/ Wednesday next week, to The Hope Centre, Park Green or Scoop & Scales in the Heritage Centre, Macclesfield or we have various other drop off points - please message me We are requesting (only) the following items: First Aid/ Medical Nappies (Priority) NEW underwear – all ages ladies and men (plus bras) Baby Milk powder/formula (Priority) Blankets – all types single bed size ideally Sleeping bags in stuff sacks Soap Shampoo Shower Gel Toothpaste Toothbrushes Sanitary pads Tampons Washing powder Tinned food – not meat or fish because of border complications Dried food – not rice or flour because of border restrictions. Used clothing is NOT required at the moment. If you can gather aid from your networks, friends, colleagues, organisations etc that would be fantastic. This willl be a programme that will continue for months although the aid requirements may change. If you click on a collection point will get contact details Financial donations are very much needed if you prefer Hope & Aid Direct have 20+ year experience of providing humanitarian aid to war zones and to those fleeing war and poverty and ensuring that the right aid gets to the right people at the right time. All Hope and Aid Directs’ work is undertaken by unpaid volunteers and they have no paid staff. They drive the aid (mostly commercially procured at hugely discounted rates) directly to those who need it and only work with trusted partners in the field. They currently have a further 3 trucks on their way to Slovakia for onward immediate distribution into Ukraine by trusted partners. These are packed to the gunnels with aid donated or purchased through your generosity. Their load includes baby food, nappies, food, medical aid, toiletries, sanitary, sleeping bags, disinfection foggers (for spraying underground bunkers to avoid disease) & much more. In addition 2 artics are taking 27 huge water tanks & 11 trailers directly into Ukraine via Poland. We are now preparing for the next convoy and will grateful receive any donations of aid from our needs list. Scoop & Scales, The Hope Centre and Henrys Cafe kindly continue to be collection points. If you would like to chip in to help fund future convoys, please do so here - / The stats from Ukraine are unimaginable. 3.7 MILLION people have fled the country, while around 6.47 million internally displaced. Another approx 12.65 million are unable or unwilling to leave conflict-effected areas. In the meantime we do not forget all the refugees from other nations whose struggles continue.
