Free: 5 foot mattress (Birkby HD2) My neighbour is offering this good quality medium soft mattress, 5 foot wide. It does have a slight stain on one side as shown in picture.

Free: Things for jam making etc. (Birkby HD2) Large sealed bag of elastic bands. Bag of silver twist ties. Large stack of wax discs suitable for larger jars, e g. 2lb jars. All clean. I might have a few spare old jam jars too.

Free: Large artificial Christmas tree (to put together) (Birkby HD2) This is a few years old but looks good when erected with lights or tinsel etc. Dark green, about 7 or 8 ft tall I think and needs a large space. Probably not good near very young children who might tip it over. In layers which hook into a central pole and gets stored in two large ikea-type bags in bundles for each layer. The plastic pine needles can sometimes fall off.

Free: Non-working Dyson D6 cordless vacuum for parts (Birkby HD2) Gifted A few years old now. Think I once got a new battery but believe it needs another now. They are a bit expensive I think. We once swapped the washable filter but you can get replacements of those too.

Free: A sock aid helper (Birkby HD2) Expired A device supposed to help pull socks on if you struggle to bend. Bought by a relative but not wanted. Not sure how good it is since my Mum uses a slightly different type.

Free: Storage thing (Birkby HD2) Gifted Metal mesh shelves that slide out either side. Ideal for things you need to see and that need air circulation. Good condition.

Free: Small coffee table lightweight (Birkby HD2) Gifted This is handy and light to move around a room but rather scratched and marked. A good painting or varnishing project. About 60cm across and 43cm high.

Free: Rollator (Birkby HD2) Gifted Hi, This is an old one used temporarily by a relative. Fairly basic but nice large wheels for bumpy pavements. The left hand brake seems like it needs adjusting as it is not very firm if you fix the brakes in parking mode. To collect from Birkby, almost anytime.

Free: Microwave-Dunelm make (Birkby HD2) Expired Hi, this 700w microwave oven still works but as well as showing slight signs of wear it has a dodgy 'start' button, so can take a few goes to start it going. Might suit someone who knows how to fix the control pad. It is a nice compact size.

Free: Wheelchair (Birkby HD2) Gifted This is a very basic lightweight Coopers of Stortford foldable wheelchair with a bag/ carry case. Not great for a very short person or for very frequent use.

Free: Black seeded grapes grown in Birkby (Birkby HD2) Expired We have too many! Have made 2 batches of grape jelly. Anyone want some for wine or juice or jelly? A few insects among them. Some in bowls picked Sunday evening. Some still to pick.

Free: A Habitat folding chair with the cane to redo seat (Birkby HD2) Gifted This was originally bought in about 1984. Was a handy chair and when the seat eventually broke I bought the pre-woven cane to fix it. Haven't had time. Anyone want it?

Free: Old pillows, for pet bedding? (Birkby HD2) Expired A couple of bags of old pillows. Polyester stuffing. Some are in good condition but a bit saggy and could be used for toy wadding etc and others a bit discoloured. Is there an animal charity that needs some?

Free: Board skittles (Birkby HD2) Gifted Needs new strings to make skittles stand up. I loved this as a child in the 70s. Galt toys I think. Slightly dangerous for young children but great renovation project. I have offered this on freecycle and people were interested but I no longer seem to be able to sign in there, so am back on Freegle :)

Free: 'Constructo' straws (Birkby HD2) Expired Coloured plastic straws and joining pieces to make structures. Much loved childhood toy. Not in original box. Good fun. Not suitable for very young children- small pieces.

Free: Solid pine shelf with hanging rail (Birkby HD2) Gifted The shelf has previously been varnished. It measures 134.2cm long by 40.2 cm wide and the plank is 1.5cm thick. The rail is strong, slight sign of rust in part. Used to be in an alcove but not used for a while.

Free: A school desk that has been used in a greenhouse (Birkby HD2) Expired This is a sturdy but tatty desk with black metal legs and scruffy formica top. Might work for someone else who wants it outside or in a garage or shed etc. Or who wants a framework for a raised planter or a base for a mosaic top. Lorna
