Free: Henckels knife (Palo Alto downtown north.) Expired - 13 inches long, including handle. Scalloped blade. Stainless steel. I don’t have the right tools to sharpen scalloped blades. Perhaps you do. I wanted to see if somebody could use this before tossing it.

Free: Bug Zapper. Needs repair (Palo Alto downtown north.) Expired - Only four months old. No warranty unfortunately. Worked GREAT on mosquitoes until high voltage failed. UV light works fine. I have fixed these in the past, but just don’t have time or patience for this one. It has mostly discrete components with surface mount diodes on the underside of the voltage multiplier circuit board and a few on the upper side of the other board. If you are skilled in electronic repair, it’s usually just an electrolytic capacitor, a diode or HV cap in the voltage multiplier or one of the flyback circuit transistors that fail in these. About a 30-60 minute fix usually. The UV bulbs are pricey. This fluorescent UV bulb is young. Maybe can use in other zappers.

Free: Unused old school flashlights (Palo Alto downtown north.) Expired - These take those big 6 volt lantern batteries. They are now too expensive locally. Maybe you can find cheaper batts online. Incandescent bulbs. Some resourceful DIYers have adapted these to use 18650 lithium rechargeable batteries and an LED bulb, but that’s more work than I want to do. The alkaline batteries I had in these lasted over ten years. Never used them. Just kept for emergencies.

Free: Sennheiser HDR 195 Headphones (Palo Alto downtown north.) Expired - These wireless headphones are NOT Bluetooth. You must have the Sennheiser TR 195 proprietary transmitter to use these. They work. In very good condition. Sells for a lot on eBay. Prefer to give them to a neighbor who can use them. Don’t want someone to take them to resell. Therefore will ONLY give them to someone who can send a photo of their TR 195 transmitter on top of a clearly dated publication like a newspaper with a visible date after March 3 2023.
