Old Tape/Radio Boombox (Midtown)
Gifted
Pulser CP - 10 boombox with tape and AM/FM radio. Will plug in or run on 4 C batteries. The power supply is a bit wonky, you have to fiddle with the plug to get it to turn on. Once the boombox is on, the radio seems to work well. The tape mechanism seems to be broken. Not sure if the battery power will work. I would get this with the expectation that you’d need to tinker with it. Pickup in midtown.

Sony DVD player (Midtown)

Works. I’m getting rid of it because it needs a separate audio cable (coaxial or RCA/analog) instead of a single HDMI cable. No remote. Pickup near Yonge/Eglinton.

Tech donations for public school (Eglinton West)

Hi friends. I’m a teacher at a TDSB school who volunteers with our tech crew and we would appreciate your donations to upgrade and replace some of our old tech. Maybe you’re retiring, closing an office or have some of these lying around. We have no A/C in our building so fans are a BIG help. For those not in the know, each teacher gets around $250 per year for class supplies, and this is used for everything, including paper, pencils, etc. We can only use that money for new products, so we can’t expense products from thrift stores, Marketplace, etc. If you’re willing to deliver, great but I can also pick up depending where you are. We are in midtown so close to there is amazing. Anywhere downtown or North York is usually feasible if there’s enough stuff. This is cross-posted. Thank you so so much for reading! We would love: - [ ] Extension cords - [ ] Power strips / power bars / surge protectors (USB or USB C enabled would be amazing) - [ ] Tower fans - [ ] iPad chargers - [ ] USB mice - [ ] Headphones / Earbuds (we need these for class sets during standardized tests) - [ ] Monitors, preferably HDMI capable but will accept newer VGA enabled (for library / teacher’s desks) - [ ] iPad chargers (USB C to Lightning/USB to Lightning) - [ ] HDMI cables - [ ] VGA cables - [ ] USB hubs - [ ] Projectors with VGA/HDMI capability - [ ] Wired speakers with headphone jacks - [ ] Bluetooth speakers - [ ] Old HDMI streaming boxes like Rokus or Apple TVs - ideally Miracast or AirPlay compatible - [ ] Electric pencil sharpeners - [ ] Document cameras We can’t take donations of iPads/actual computers because they need to be formatted by the school board. Thank you😊

Toshiba laptop (pickup pending) (Don Mills and Finch)
Gifted
An old 2009 Toshiba laptop. Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB DRR2 RAM, 500 GB hard drive, 13.3” display, LED backlit keyboard, Dolby speakers. DVD drive, Ethernet port, 2 USB ports, 1 HDMI and 1 VGA port. Webcam. Comes with charger. Battery life is very short, might need to replace it. No Bluetooth. The built-in keyboard is a bit finicky, it sometimes “jumps” keys while typing, to another letter but an external keyboard should fix that. I wiped the hard drive and original Windows 7 install and tried to put Windows 10 but it keeps looping so you may need to do a fresh install. Would be good for word processing, simple internet browsing, playing older/low-system requirement videogames, etc.
