Free: Ramshorn snails (BS7) Withdrawn - Hi! After recently rescuing a pair of ramshorn snails from a sealed jamjar in the sun, they've been loving life in their new fishbowl and have popped out a load of little babies! I'm looking for people who already have established aquariums who'd love to rescue/take on some baby ramshorn snails... They don't need feeling at all, as ramshorns are super great cleaners - the only eat decaying plant matter, so they'll clean up any algae and dead plants in your tank and live happily amongst the other fishies/shrimp etc. They only lay eggs and reproduce if there's an abundance of food, and generally they're good at managing their population size in relation to food and space availability. Ramshorns get on with pretty much everyone, but some tank-mates might try to eat the ramshorns, so do a quick Google of what you've got first to see if they're compatible. Unfortunately, I learned all about the breeding habits of ramshorns when I gave them too much cucumber, so I speak from mild experience :,) Please let me know if you'd be able to take some, as they won't survive the winter with me. Thanks! :) Request: Small aquatic plant/substrate/rocks (BS7) Withdrawn - Hi! My neighbour rescued a jar of ramshorn snails from a skip... we've got them in some jars and have managed to find a little bit of moss and a couple pebbles, and are currently feeding them bits of cucumber and broccoli.... think is, they're still living in a jam jar which is far from luxury, and I myself live in a caravan so I can't have any plug in water pumps etc... I'm after looking for a small goldfish bowl perhaps? And ideally some small aquatic plants, as I was hoping to try make a little bowl up for them with a more natural environment, plants to oxygenate the water instead of pumps etc... these types of aquatic snails are stupidly hardy and can survive and thrive in just a bucket of tap water, they don't need specific light or much at all really, which is how they've managed to survive being thrown out with the rubbish in a sealed jam jar πŸ˜… I know they're just 2 small water snails, but they're little creatures that I'd love to be able to look after properly and give them something better than they've got currently. If anyone has anything spare or left over from a past pet please let me know. I'm based in horfield and struggle to get around much but can walk short distances. Please do reach out if you think you have something we could use. Thanks, love 2 hopeful snails πŸ€— Edit: we have a bowl now for Biggie Snailz and Missy Shelliott, but if anyone has plants/substrate/stones for the bottom we'd be very appreciative πŸ₯° Request: Small aquatic plant/substrate/rocks (BS7) - Hi! Everything to go in one. If no-one can collect soon I'm trying to arrange for it all to be dropped off at bosh in town (between McDonald's and fabric land, its a freeshop for homeless folk) as I don't have a vehicle at the moment to transport
