Living room & dining furniture (Clayton Alabama) Hello, I am a grandma who relocated to Alabama from upstate New York. My 3 grandchildren were in a foster home and the foster parent retired. DHR was going to split them up if I was unable to relocate here to take custody of them boy 4 2 girls 6 and 7. Parents working towards goals to reunification. In meantime, I am in low income disabled 2 bedroom apartment. I left my life and belongings behind to be here in 49 hours notice. Looking for living room furniture and a kitchen table with 4 chairs. All my belongings are in a storage unit in Binghamton New York (where was born and raised). I literally grabbed a basket of my clothing, my medications and my dog. Drive 16 hours straight to get here. DHR has helped some, but are done with assistance. 12/16/2024 got the call to be here by 12/18/2024. DHR put us all in a small hotel room and we just nicely got an apartment in Clayton, moved in 02/13/2025. I had to pay for food, hotel and all money needed to move into the apartment. Some very kind people have donated beds for the kids.
